Adult SS7's Rules and Format

Format & Points
- Each team will have six out-field players, one goalkeeper and three substitutes.
- Each team will be scheduled to play one game and one penalty shoot-out competition per evening.
- Games will last 45 minutes, two halves of 22 minutes and 1 minute turn around.
- Points for games will be awarded (Win 2 pts, Draw 1 pt, Lose 0 pts).
- Penalty shoot-outs will be taken after every game (regardless of win, lose or draw).
- Points for penalty shoot-outs will be (Win 1 pt, Lose 0 pts).
- Where possible each league will be made up of 8 to 10 teams.
- All teams will play each other once in a round robin league format and will progress to the second round according to its position in that league.
- In the event that two teams have equal points at the end of a tournament or a round, the number of games won (i.e. not penalty shoot-outs) will be taken into consideration. If still equal, the number of games drawn will be considered. If still equal the result will come down to the winners of the penalty shoot-out between the two teams.
- The top two teams in each league will qualify for the Champions League.
- The second two in each league will qualify for the European Cup.
- The third two in each league will qualify for the Plate Competition.
- The remaining will be entered into the Shield Competition.
Refereeing and Rules
- No current registered professional players are allowed to play.
- The referees decision is final.
- Abuse of referees will not be tolerated.
- Yellow cards, red cards and sin bins will be in operation.
- 1 Yellow card = 4 minutes in the sin bin.
- 2 Yellow cards = 1 Red = Sending off and an automatic one match ban.
- Players with 2 red cards during the tournament will be requested to report to the Super Soccer disciplinary committee and may be disqualified from taking further part in the tournament.
- There will be no sliding tackles. Sliding tackles will be punishable with a yellow card. Players can however slide when intercepting a pass or when attempting to stop a ball from leaving the field of play.
- Off-side rules do NOT apply .
- Rolling subs are permitted. A substitute may not enter the field of play until the player he/she is substituting has left the field.
- Goalkeeprs may not kick the ball from hand.
- Goalkeepers may leave the semi-circle but may not handle the ball outside the semi-circle.
Penalty Shoot-outs
- After every game, each team will take five penalties on a 'best out of five basis'.
- In the event that the scores are tied after the initial five penalties have been taken, the competition will continue on a sudden death basis until a winner is determined or until one team submits defeat.
- Goalkeepers can be changed between each penalty .
- Players must take penalties in strict numeric order on a rotational basis, any deviation from this must be cleared with the referee and agreed with the opposing team.
Super Soccer Sevens Rights
- Super Soccer Sevens has total authority to amend and adapt these rules as it sees fit at any time before and/or during the tournament.
- Super Soccer Sevens will use its best endeavours to inform all team captains of any changes in the rules by e-mail or in person, and will make every effort to publish rule changes on the website within 48 hours or changing.
- Teams failing to field a team twice during the tournament will be automatically disqualified from taking further part unless Super Soccer Sevens decide otherwise.
- Any person urinating anywhere other than in the designated toilet will be automatically banned from taking further part in the tournament and the team that person is playing for will be penalised.
- Teams turning up late may be penalised as Super Soccer Sevens sees fit.
- In the event of unfair play or rule breaking, Super Soccer Sevens will be allowed to; deduct points from teams/individuals, ban teams/individuals, or disqualify teams/individuals as it sees fit.
- No refunds will be given to any team/individual as a result of its being banned or disqualified.
- Super Soccer Sevens is the sole adjudicator on all rules, regulations, and matters relating to the event or tournaments and its decision is final.
